Performance comparison of engineering plastics: PC, PC board, PC bar, PC bar
This article explains the problems from several aspects of PC boards and bars: mainly, performance advantages, performance disadvantages, application scope, and conventional inventory specifications.
PC: Polycarbonate
English name: Polycarbonate (PC for short). Polycarbonate has high mechanical strength, extremely high impact resistance, high glass transition temperature, and heat resistance and deformation resistance. The operating temperature range is from - 40 ℃ to 120 ℃. PC has good electrical characteristics and is an ideal material for electrical and electronic applications. It has good strength, impact resistance and transparency, and is an ideal material for some transparent structural applications, such as mirrors and windows.
Advantages:
Higher mechanical strength
Good creep resistance
High impact strength even at low temperatures
Stiffness remains constant over a wide temperature range
Good dimensional stability
Good electrical insulation and dielectric properties
Physiological inertia (applicable to food contact)
Disadvantages:
Poor resistance to organic chemicals, not resistant to strong alkali
Poor self lubrication and scratch resistance
Easy to hydrolyze at high temperature
Long term exposure to ultraviolet light will cause yellowing.
Scope of application:
It is widely used in the fields of machinery, electronics, automobile, construction, medical equipment, hand model, etc. For example: optical lens, instrument inspection panel, piping system, safety glass, writing pad, slide projector equipment components.
General stock specification:
Plate: (0.5-15) x 1220 x 2440mm; (0.5-15)x 1000 x 2000mm; (10-100)x 500 x 1000mm
Round bar: (10-200) x 1000mm
Color: transparent, translucent/black, etc
Modified products: anti-static PC, glass fiber reinforced
